Program of Activities

Driving Instruction
Every effort will be made to provide up to four hours of professional driving instruction for each student utilizing both observation and behind the wheel experience over the three day period. Three to four students will be assigned to each teaching coach. One will drive while the others will observe and listen to the instructor. At the end of each 30-45 minute session, students will rotate positions. Instruction periods are laid out in two hour blocks of time.
The Beginner’s Course (Level 1) will include pre-trip inspection, explanation of controls and instruments, with driving instruction at very low speeds. Advanced Instruction (Level 2) will be conducted in a housing area, presently not in use, over paved streets with various types of traffic controls. A number of driving challenges, including backing, will be included in this course.
Instructional coaches are provided by cooperative area RV dealers. We’ll have a variety of sizes, some gas, some diesel. A cadre of qualified instructors, some holding CDL’s and other competent teachers will make up our faculty.

Daily Instruction Schedule
Beginning Thursday morning, driving instruction will be scheduled as follows: 8 am-10am Driving Instruction, 10am-11am Break, 11am-1pm Driving Instruction, 1pm-2pm Break, 2pm-4pm Driving Instruction

Safety Seminar Schedule
A total of twelve safety related seminars have been scheduled. They will be repeated up to three times over the three day period. Seminar schedules will be given to each student at registration and any changes or alterations in the schedule will be posted at the Information Desk. Most seminars will be conducted in 20x40 open-sided tents. Video based seminars will be held in the Conference Center. Shuttle service to and from the Conference Center will be provided. By popular demand, we will be conducting the Certified CPR course again this year. A fee of $10 will be assessed for this valuable educational course to be paid at the time of registration and certificates will be issued upon completion of the course.
