Clayton Antique Boat Show Rally

August 5 - 9, 1999
Clayton, New York

The Clayton rally went well, and five coaches were there. Two came in on Thursday, the rest on Friday, and we all left Monday morning.

Friday evening all ten of us had dinner at Foxy's Restaurant, right on the waterfront in Fisher's Landing. On Saturday everyone went to the Antique Boat Museum at least for part of the day. That evening we all travelled to Alexandria Bay for a dinner cruise up the river to Clayton and back, a beautiful evening which turned bad as we reached our campground after the cruise. The bad weather was with us all the rest of the night into Sunday until noon. I was able to arrange a 3 1/2 hour river tour in a museum-owned boat Sunday which started in the rain and finished up under clearing but still cloudy skies. The highpoint of the ride was that we stayed on board to participate in the antique boat parade which was the climax of the Antique Boat Show and our rally.

I was gratified to hear many good reports about the Clayton rally. Everyone pretty well stuck together and all had a good time.
