Somebody asked me last week how come I had so much color. That was a good question considering it was mid May in New England. The answer, of course, was the trip to warm, sunny, Myrtle Beach. Those of us who can't escape to parts south for the winter months could at least look forward to expediting Summer by dreaming about, then heading for South Carolina in April. This year's group was small but fun, about 15 coaches altogether. Most of us came from the cold country, a few Snow Birds made this the stopping point on their trip north. From whatever direction, Myrtle Beach was a great experience. Dixie Stampede and Midieval Times both showed us wonderful entertainment and super meals. In both cases we found the eating utensils to be a surprise; the knives and forks were our hands and fingers. At Midieval Times they told us that back in the 9th century, such luxuries had yet to be invented. Good thing the food was good. As bad as it sounds, we had a ball.
We had sunshine most of the time and temperatures that you had no trouble enjoying. The beach was beautiful as always, the company even better. Pizza night on Thursday was the opportunity for many of us to say goodbye. One week is an awfully short time.
