SOUTHEAST AREA RALLY
February 6 - 13, 2000
|
Beginning at noon on Sunday, Granite Staters met at the K-Mart parking lot for the caravan to the rally site six miles south. After spending the night at the parking lot, and with more who joined us Monday morning, we left for the airport at 1:00 Monday afternoon. Parking was uneventful and easy and in no time we were set up for our first happy hour. The Browns and I moved our coaches slightly to make for more room for the chapter gathering place. We were joined by many others who followed the Granite Staters direction signs which Social Director Bruce placed at intersections in the parking area; the only such signs I noticed there. The week was filled with seminars, vendor booths, motorhome displays, entertainment, and just plain good friendship. Subject: GDG-Southeast Area Rally Date: Wed, 16 Feb 2000 19:24:34 PST From: "Anne Brown" <Annebrown66@hotmail.com> Reply-To: Members@GraniteStaters.org To: members@GraniteStaters.org Hello, I just wanted to let you Northeners know that our rally in Brooksville was a great success. We had 35 coaches from NH & Vermont park together. All were Granite Staters. We marched in the parade and they put us last which made for a long march but we all did it. There were a lot of new folks so we had to teach them our drills. Social Hour every afternoon was alot of fun with a very large crowd!!!! We also served coffee and donuts the first two mornings before the rally actually started. We have 4 new members that signed up from NH that were at the rally and found us. Did everyone see the Feb. issue of FMCA Magazine as page 34 features The Lawn Chair Brigade and the Shriners can tabs. Bruce & I were very busy with entertaining and brigade practice but you know Bruce, he loved every minute of it!!!!! Happy Winter, Anne & Bruce
It was great to see Larry, Cheryl and Kennith Adams again as they were there from Virginia. We missed all of you and feel bad for you up in the cold North. The weather was wonderful this year. |
